The speech of the children and the adults

In the article titled “formality and informality”, we have mentioned that the speech of the young and the old people is really very different to the extent that the speech of the first category is informal and the speech of the second is very formal. Within this article, we will deal with the speech of the adults and the children to show that there is a big gap between their speeches.

In fact, the children have their own special speech that is really temporal, in other words, when they grow up, they will have another speech. On the one hand,  It’s true to say that the adults can easily understand the children' speech in that they used to be children. On the other hand, it is really very hard for the children to understand adult’s speech. So, the adults can use the children' speech not to community with each other, but just to communicate with the children. In this sense, the children impose their speech on the adults directly. The adults can not escape in any way from the children' speech which used to be their own one.

the children cannot escape from the adults’ speech too. This means that the  children will have the adults’ speech when they grow up. So, the adults impose their speech on the children, but indirectly. That is to say, the children acquire the adult speech and get rid of their speech gradually.
